Shrek 4

I've got lots of new stuff from Shrek4, but of course I cant post it until the movie comes out next may.

Here's some Bee movie matte paintings I did with help from Eric Bouffard (great DW matte painter). All those circle/hexagons on the back wall of the bee hive had to be painted on as lighting couldn't handle it. We had to paint them in perspective too...uh, I shudder even thinking about it. Looks good though! The last one was a lock off of Barry's apartment. I had to get the walls looking like wax.

Here's some keys of the storm scene in Bee Movie...

I painted the logo for the trailer for Bee movie - this opens up to reveal the Honex factory. I borrowed heavily from the amazing Pete Maynez on this one.




I also got to paint some NY storefronts so they wouldn't have to model or surface them. They just slap these on a model and make sure there's a lot of camera blur

So after the Bee's Art dept, I got to do some Bee matte paintings. Matte painting is a lot of fun. On Bees I got to paint some keys in VisDev THEN the final matte painting later on - so you actually get to see your work on the screen!
